Adam’s Update (5.6.26) Rally For Our Students And Urge the BOE to Reject the Superintendent’s Hurtful Proposed Budget Cuts
Colleagues, As you probably know already, the RCSD Board of Education is scheduled to vote next Tuesday on the Superintendent's proposed budget for the next school year. If approved as recommended, it would include severe cuts of Home/Hospital teacher positions as well as reductions in Social Worker and School Counselor positions. We oppose these proposed cuts and hope that Dr. Rosser will reconsider his recommendation. In a budget that exceeds $1.1 billion, it is unnecessary and indefensible to cut such critical services for our most vulnerable students. But if he does not, please join us at a 5pm rally next Tuesday, May 12th, in front of Central Office (131 W. Broad Street) to urge the school board to reject these hurtful proposed cuts. Immediately after that, we will move indoors to the Board meeting to show our solidarity with the students who would be so adversely affected by the proposed cuts. In the interim, please email members of the school board and urge...
