RTA_Is it Compassion Fatigue? – 3 hours – 4/4
As teachers, we are in a caring profession where our compassion is called upon daily. Although compassion can be deeply rewarding, it can also come at a cost, particularly if we’re frequently exposed to others’ traumatic experiences. During this workshop, we will explore the meaning of compassion fatigue along with its symptoms and root causes. Each participant will engage in a self-test that will be the basis of our work together as we begin to identify strategies to cope with Compassion Fatigue both personally, and in our various roles as educators in the workplace.

RTA_Executive Functioning in the Classroom Environment – 8 hours – 4/20 and 4/27
During this professional learning experience, educators working with students in grades 3-12 will focus on strategies to enhance student behavior and academic strategies within the school environment. We will define the executive functioning components and gain an understanding of the research practices completed by Dr. Lynn Metzler and her team.
