HOLIDAY GIFT BASKETS:
The RTA Action Committee sponsors an annual Holiday Food Basket Giveaway. There will be a Holiday Dinner Basket provided for two needy families from each school. DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. TRIBUTE:
Nomination forms for students receiving the award for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Tribute are due to the RTA Office by December 13th. Each school is asked to submit one student who best personifies the qualities exemplified by Dr. King. Every school should have ONE student entered!!! REACH OUT:
This is a great time to reach out to your new members in your building to see how they are or if they need anything. By November 30th, most of the new members have been observed. This is a good time to check in on them and let them know about rebuttals! Remember, they may not know who to go to or procedural processes for your building. Check-in on them and see what is going on!

THINKING OF RETIRING:
RTA will host a Drop-in informational session on January 23rd from 3:00-5:30 pm at the RTA office, 30 N. Union St., for all members interested in learning more about the retirement process. Topics covered will include: New York State Teachers Retirement System (NYSTRS), the forms and letters, retiring from the RCSD, important dates, Health and Dental benefits, and the Absentee Reduction Plan. Please share this information with your members!
SENIORITY NUMBER:
The RTA has found that the district has provided us with flawed seniority lists. We are in the process of correcting them as fast as we can.
