Due to the instability in the RCSD, RTA encourages everyone to participate in the voluntary transfer process. Participating in this process protects you in case the District makes any last-minute changes and you do not have to transfer until you accept a position at Placement Day(s). Participation in the voluntary transfer process does not, and will not, count negatively against you but rather gives you more options to participate in transfer rounds.

Re: 2022-2023 ONLINE VOLUNTARY TRANSFER
In accordance with Section 24 (Vacancies and Transfers) of the contractual agreement between the
Rochester City School District and the Rochester Teachers Association, probationary and tenured staff
may apply for transfer to a new assignment in his/her current tenure area each school year. (For the full

What is voluntary transfer?
Voluntary Transfer is the process allowing you as an RTA member to apply for transfer to a different
school/program for next school year.
How do I know what positions to apply to?
Applications should be based on schools where you anticipate you would like to work. Vacancies will not
be known until after the budget is approved by the BOE.
How do I apply?
Applications are completed online through RoConnect, instructions are below.
What happens after I submit my application?
Once an application is submitted, you will receive an email confirming school selections. During
Transfer/Placement Day (generally held at the end of the school year), if vacancies exist for the next school
year at the schools selected, you may be offered an opportunity to transfer.
The voluntary transfer process is now open. Applications for the 2022-2023 school year will be accepted
online until February 28, 2022* at 4:00 pm. You can access the site by logging on to RoConnect. Go to the
website roconnect.rcsdk12.org in the Chrome browser. The site links can be found in the RTA/RAP
Transfer folder. Your username is your employee ID number, and your password is your current RCSD
password.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE TRANSFER PROCESS CANNOT BE USED TO CHANGE TENURE AREA.
