Colleagues,
Here are a few timely announcements and reminders:
Rochester Teachers Care Video. Our third video in this weekly series can be accessed here Logan Newman and is also available on FB. It shows the terrific Vision Clinic work led by East High School’s Logan Newman. Congratulations to Logan Newman and to the two other colleagues (John-Martin Cannon, School #10 and Tanya Homer, School #52) who were featured in earlier segments. All videos will be archived on the RTA website. Please contact RTA’s Aimee Rinere or Matt Lavonas to nominate colleagues, or groups of colleagues, to be featured in future segments of the Rochester Teachers Care videos.
PD Credits Recovery. The District will notify all teachers this week about the details for recovering 16 PD credits by reading a book and writing reflections about it. These credits would be in addition to whatever other PD credits teachers may have already earned. The list of books, and other logistics, have already been negotiated and will be communicated to you ASAP.
RTA Scholarship Awards. April 28 is the deadline for applications for the Peter Castle and Gordon Doorway RTA Scholarships to deserving students. Applications can be obtained from RCSD Guidance Counselors and can also be accessed on the RTA website . Please contact RTA Scholarship Committee Chairperson Joseph Zuniga if you have questions or need further information.

For years hey’ve been making and donating beautiful dresses for needy girls here and abroad. And now they are expanding the initiative to include backpacks made from new to good condition pillow cases. If you have such extra pillow cases, please drop them off at the RTA (30 N. Union Street, Suite #301).
