Dear Colleagues,

Upon successfully concluding negotiating the attached Memorandum of Agreement with the Rochester City School District, RTA has agreed to help administer the District’s issuance of reimbursement for the automobile insurance deductible to any RTA bargaining unit member whose vehicle suffered physical damage that occurred while that member reported for duty. The agreed-upon reimbursement, funded by the Rochester City School District, is for insurance deductible only (maximum $500). 

In order to comply with District requirements and be eligible, an individual must:

·      Be a current employee of the RCSD (both at the time of damage and application for reimbursement);

·      Have documentation of physical damage to the vehicle between 9/1/22 and 6/30/23;

·      Have submitted a police report;

·      Provide proof of insurance coverage and amount of deductible;

·      Supply the exact location of the vehicle when damaged; and

·      Furnish proof of repair and amount of damage.

The RTA has engaged an impartial third party to review the completed applications and to determine the amount of the reimbursement. In undertaking this project, the RTA will work expeditiously to screen applications for completeness and forward all qualified applications received by September 15, 2023, to the impartial administrator. Only applications that meet all enumerated requirements will be considered. No applications will be accepted after September 15, 2023.
