Colleagues,

The following courses are being offered by the Rochester Teaching Academy and will be on True North Logic with full course descriptions 3 weeks prior to the start date.  We wanted to give you an opportunity to “save the date”, however, you will still need to go through True North Logic for registration.

Please note* If there are multiple sessions within one course, participants must attend all sessions for full PD credit.  There will be no partial credit given for any course that is more than one session.  All sessions will be via Zoom until further notice.  Please be prepared to have your cameras on.  Thank you!

RTA Cooperative Discipline:
As teachers, we have enormous power in influencing our students’ behavior.  Therefore, we need to be able to recognize the purpose, or the goal of the misbehavior, and know how to respond to it both in the immediate and in the long term.  This workshop will offer a process that is both corrective and supportive.  Focusing on the work of Linda Albert (Cooperative Discipline), Robert Mackenzie (Setting Limits in the Classroom), and Geoff Colvin (Acting out (Behavior) Cycle), we will couple behavior intervention with steps for building self-esteem and positive relationships with our students.
*This is an eight-hour course that will take place over the February break on 2/22 and 2/23 from 9:00am-1:00pm.
