From Aimee Rinere, RTA Treasurer…
INTRODUCE YOURSELF!
There were over 100 teachers hired this school year! Please be sure to welcome any new members to your buildings. Consider posting your room number, phone extension and times members can reach out to you on your RTA bulletin board. Send us pictures. Remember, each new teacher is a potential RTA member.
EARLY DISMISSAL DAYS:
Early release days for the 2019-2020 school year are December 6 & March 6.
HELP IS AVAILABLE!
Do you need help with your Building Committee or SBPT? Call RTA to set up a time for us to come and work with your team.

REPRESENTATIVE ASSEMBLY DATES FOR THE YEAR:
All RA meetings are from 4:15-6:00 pm and will all be held at Comedy at the Carlson, 50 Carlson Road. The January RA is the only exception and it will be held at Wilson Foundation, followed by the Martin Luther King Awards

PAYROLL:
Your annual salary is located on your paystub. We received the Triborough increase, which means, you simply move to the next higher step. For example, if you were on Step 15 for the 2018-19 school year, then for this school year, you will start on Step 16.
BREAST CANCER STRIDES WALK
This year’s Making Strides Walk is October 20th – at Frontier Field beginning at 8:30 am. Please consider creating a team and walking for a great cause. To donate, click on the following link http://bit.ly/RTABreastCancerWalk. This link is also available on the RTA website. Please be sure to stop by the RTA tent and pick up your complimentary t-shirt.
GRIEVANCE ADVISORY COMMITTEE:
The Grievance Advisory Committee is made up of active and retired teachers who meet every Wednesday from 4:15-6:15 (by appointment) offering advice and counsel to members. To schedule a meeting, simply call RTA. The District paid out $56,000 to RTA members as settlements to grievances during the school year 2018-19. Members of the Grievance Advisory Committee are also available before and after every Representative Assembly meeting to answer building specific questions.
