Colleagues, As I’ve indicated in Wednesday’s Update, with the help of our state-level union, the New York State United Teachers (NYSUT), approximately 1100 Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines are being made available solely to members of the Rochester Teachers Association (RTA) and the Rochester Association of Paraprofessionals (RAP). Because of logistical constraints on the vaccine itself and on the Monroe County Department of Health, these vaccines must be administered next week on Tuesday (9am - 7pm) and on Wednesday (9am -8pm). We have reached out to the District and they have agreed that, for this instance only, “staff who take advantage of this opportunity will not be required to use sick time, as long as they return to work following the appointment.” The District also suggested that Secondary staff should register for appointments on Tuesday and Elementary staff should register on Wednesday.  To register for the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, please go to...
