Colleagues, Just a few timely updates and clarification on current issues: - This Friday. The time schedule for the October 6 Superintendent’s Conference Day is the same as on a regular day - consistent with Section 16 (Professional Day) of our collective bargaining agreement. The District sent to school principals a sample schedule for that day (8:30am - 3:30pm) but it was only a SAMPLE that applies to some schools, not all. If you are at a school with a different normal starting or ending time, and therefore have other conflicting obligations, just so notify your school principal in writing and you will be both excused and accommodated. - Teacher Retirement System (TRS). The District has notified the TRS that the salary in the July 7, 2017 paycheck should have been credited for the 2016-2017 school year.  TRS has responded that they will make the adjustments but it may take a little time for them to do so.  This miscommunication between the District and the TRS affects everyone...
