Colleagues, Just a reminder that today’s “Rally to Spare Our Students” begins at 4:30pm in front of RCSD’s Central Office. We have asked the school board to move the site to a larger venue but they refused to do so. Neither this, nor the cold Rochester weather will deter us from showing up in unprecedented numbers to advocate against the disruptive mid-year cuts. There has been some confusion about starting time for the meeting of the school board. They’ve decided, just yesterday, to begin at 5:30pm to hear a presentation on an unrelated topic (something to do with school security personnel). This should not affect our original plan. We will rally outside Central Office from 4:30pm and then go inside for the school board meeting at 6pm - after AFT president Randi Weingarten addresses the rally.
