Welcome back and best wishes for the new year.
Our current Collective Bargaining Agreement expires on June 30th and we are already preparing for negotiating a successor contract. Our focus this month is to elicit input from our members. We want to be guided by teachers’ collective wisdom and that is why we want to know your ideas, concerns, and suggestions.
To begin, all RTA members will receive a survey by email within the next couple days. You will have approximately a week to complete that brief survey and return it to us. Secondly, we have scheduled two separate forums that will be conducted by Zoom. The forum for Secondary schools level will be on January 16 while the forum for Elementary school level will be held on January 22. You will receive an invitation and Zoom link several days in advance.
In addition to the above, RTA Department Chairpersons will host Zoom sessions with members of their respective departments. These will be scheduled by the elected RTA Department Chairs. And finally, we will provide a dedicated email address for submitting further comments and suggestions to your negotiations team.
