SUMMER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
The maximum number of hours of school based PD an individual may complete during the summer is 18 hours

for non-tenured teachers and 22 hours for tenured teachers. Teachers can complete all 24 or 36 hours if courses are offered on TrueNorth Logic.

ROCHESTER TEACHERS CARE PROJECT:

This year we shared 35 new videos and have filmed another 21! There are so many fabulous things happening in our schools. We know teachers really don’t take the summers off! PAYCHECKS:

The final paycheck for those teachers getting 22 paychecks is July 5th. **The first paycheck for the 2019-2020 school will be September 13th and the final paycheck issued on July 3rd.

We expect the check for the Professional Development Incentive will be issued on July 5th. Any discrepancies after July 5th, payment will likely be issued either July 19th, August 2nd, August 16th, or August 30th.

RTA ADOPTED BUDGET:

The adopted 2019-2020 RTA budget has been included in the official minutes on record and is available for review upon request.

UNFILLED JOB NUMBERS:

Please send all of the job numbers for classroom positions that went unfilled by a substitute. The district is required to add .5 day to the Paid Absence Bank, which is made available to members who have run out of sick days for themselves.

NYSTRS PENSION AND RETIREMENT SEMINARS:

If you are considering retirement in the near future, summer is a good time to attend a New York State Teachers Retirement PREP Seminar. There are 2 seminars scheduled in the Rochester on July 10th and July 30th, which run from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Registration is required and these seminars fill up quickly. RTA HOTLINE NUMBER:

Teachers may call the RTA Hotline for job postings by calling 546-2768. To accept a position, simply follow the directions which are given on the hotline.

LAID-OFF TEACHERS:

Please let teachers who are laid-off know there is an informational meeting at the RTA Office on June 25th from 4-6 pm. Information shared will include call backs, unemployment, health benefits, and plenty of time for individual questions.
